Let us be your guide to Fredericksburg so you can focus on having fun!

Welcome to Fredericksburg!

The city of Fredericksburg has a rich and vibrant history. The city was originally founded in 1846, and it was actually named after Frederick, the King of Prussia. This may seem a little odd in the middle of Texas, which is more famous for its connection to Mexico than Germany. But in fact, Fredericksburg was once home to Texas German. This dialect belonged to German settlers who initially refused to speak English. While few people speak Texas German today, Fredericksburg is still home to the largest population of Texas German speakers in the world. And the influence German culture had on the town can still be seen today.

For all its charms, you may wonder if there are family things to do in Fredericksburg. What will entertain the children? How can you combine an educational experience with family fun? Believe it or not, it can be done. With that in mind, here’s your guide to Fredricksburg’s family activities.
