Welcome in the New Year with January events and activities at Travisso. Whether you like to read, drink coffee, shop for local products, or try new foods Travisso’s monthly calendar is filled with fun! Some activities and events listed below require a reservation to attend. Please visit the Travisso Community Association page for more event details, reservation information and the passcode.

Special January Events

2021: Art Prompt – What are your dreams and hopes for 2021? Travisso residents are encouraged to share a sketch, coloring, or drawing of your vision for 2021. All ages are welcome to participate. Your picture could be featured on the Travisso Community Association page and be entered into a raffle to win a $50 gift card. Additional information is available here.

Clubs and Meetups

Travisso Book Club – Wednesday, Jan. 6, 3 p.m. (zoom). During the first Book Club meeting of 2021 the group will discuss the book News of the World by Paulette Jiles. This best-selling book has been adapted for theaters with academy award winning actor Tom Hanks as the Civil War veteran Capt. Jefferson Kyle Kidd. For those that like to read ahead the book selection for the month of February is The Murmur of Bees by Sofia Segovia.

Ladies Coffee – Thursday, Jan. 7 and 21, 11 a.m. (zoom). If the aroma of a freshly brewed cup of coffee is calling your name then join this lively group for friendly conversation and a lot of laughs. The group meets on the first and third Thursday of every month.

Food Trucks, Coffee

El Buen Sason – Tuesday, Jan. 5, 4:30-7:30 p.m. in the Palazzo parking lot. Taco Tuesday couldn’t get any better with this local food truck that serves up delicious street tacos and so much more. Take a break from cooking and don’t forget to check out their menu and order early.

Coyote Moon Coffee – January schedule to be determined. Don’t have time to brew a cup of coffee on your way to work or looking to save some time from making your own while working at home? No problem. Coyote Moon Coffee is a local purveyor of freshly brewed coffees, hot cocoa, cold brew, pastries and more. Please check back soon for this month’s schedule.

Garbo’s Lobster – Friday, Jan. 15, 5 p.m. in the Palazzo parking lot. This Texas food truck serves up delicious New England cuisine with lobster rolls taking center stage. If you’re yearning for a taste of this Northeast summer coastal tradition then Garbo’s fits the bill. And the best thing is that you don’t have to go far to get a delectable buttery hot dog bun with lobster as the star attraction.

Redfin Seafood Kitchen – Thursday, Jan. 21, 4:30-7 p.m. in the Palazzo parking lot. Get the tastes of authentic Louisiana style cooking in Texas with Redfin Seafood Kitchen. This popular food truck serves traditional Creole style gumbo, po’boys and much more.

Travisso Farmers’ Market

Savory Farmers’ Market – The market is open on Wednesdays Jan. 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Palazzo parking lot. It offers a wide range of local vendors and artists that sell farm to market produce, fresh meats, seafood, baked goods and handmade crafts. But there’s so much more. If you haven’t checked it out you’re definitely missing out. A local food truck is also available during market hours.
