Mardi Gras King Cake and Beads Pick Up – March 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Palazzo
Happy Fat Tuesday, Travisso! Stop by the Palazzo to grab some king cake and beads to help start your Mardi Gras off right! Wear your Mardi Gras mask when you stop by and enter into the Mardi Gras mask contest. Prizes will be awarded for Best Homemade Mardi Gras Mask (both kid and adult,) and Most Festive Mardi Gras Mask (both kid and adult.) You can also send Adrian a photo if you can’t make it in person!

Benefitting LEEF on Read Across America Day
Drop off donations in the Palazzo Lobby

Join us in collecting new and gently used books to benefit the Leander Educational Excellence Foundation in celebration of Read Across America Day. LEEF is in need of Spanish language books and high school level chapter books, but all looks are welcome! Our neighbors at Blue Hound Books in Jonestown are offering Travisso residents a 10% discount for books purchased for the book drive. Just give them the password Travisso at checkout! They will have a selection of books specifically for the book drive on display as well!

Wild Rumpus Party – March 2 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Pavilion
Help us end our book drive benefiting LEEF with a Wild Rumpus! Bring your little monsters down for a storytime led by our friends at Blue Hound Books in Jonestown, a crown-making activity, and treats fit for the king of the monsters. All littles and the young at heart are invited to join the wild rumpus! Monster costumes and pajamas are highly encouraged. RVSP today!

LISD Town Hall Meeting – March 6 from 3 – 4 p.m. at the Pavilion
This is a resident-hosted event for the community.

Several Leander ISD trustees will be in attendance to answer questions and discuss potential bonds and future voting propositions that may be needed to get the Travisso LISD elementary school built. This is a great opportunity to learn how these bonds affect your family, and what LISD plans for school development for the LISD property within our community.

Spring Into Yoga Beginners Workshop – March 19 from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m at the Pavilion
Cost: $5.00

Spring into yoga with a beginners workshop yoga practice. This practice is offered by Shannon Boutelle who is 200 Hour YTT certified yoga instructor.  Shannon has been practicing yoga for 14 years and received her training through Life Time Fitness. If you have ever been curious about yoga, now is the time to come learn some of the basics in this one-hour workshop. Please bring your own mat and a water bottle. The class will be outside in the Pavilion if the weather is appropriate or inside the Toscana room. The fee for this workshop is just $5 per person. Pre- Registration is required in order to reserve your space. We are limiting this workshop to 15 people. Please send your rsvp to shannonboutelle@gmail.com on or before March 17th.

In need photos for your class of 2022 grad? Texas Touch is offering sessions for Travisso residents on Sunday, March 27th, and would love to get you taken care of! Feeling like new family photos? Texas Touch is offering two dates in April, Sunday the 10th and Saturday the 23rd, for family photos! Register for a session today!

Reminder!

Early Voting Opens!

Early voting for general elections has begun for Leander and Travis County. More information on candidates and special propositions can be found at this link. A sample ballot can be found here.

New voter registration is closed, but new voters can start the registration process now to be prepared to vote in May or November elections.

Clubs at Travisso

Travisso Empty Nesters and Forever Young groups return!
Have your kids flown the coop? We have two groups you would love! The Travisso Empty Nesters and Forever Young groups are planning events and making a comeback in 2022. If you think this is a good fit for you, contact group organizer Penny Chilcutt by email to be added to the email list for event updates.

Fabric and Fiber Artists Club
Meeting on 2nd Monday of the Month
10:30 – 11:30 a.m. in the Toscana Room

If you crochet, knit, cross-stitch, or quilt, this group is for you! Bring your projects and join your crafty neighbors for a morning of creating together. As a precaution for our current COVID threat level being in stage 5, masks will be required for all events in the Toscana room. Please practice social distancing and sanitize hands regularly during the event.

Palazzo Poker
2nd and 4th Thursday of the Month
7 – 10 p.m. at the Toscana Room

Meet your neighbors at the Palazzo for a poker night on Thursdays. The group usually plays Texas Hold’em and no cash is required to join. As a precaution for our current COVID threat level being in stage 5, masks will be required for all events in the Toscana room. Please sanitize hands regularly during the event.
