Take mom to the Texas Hill Country
And, let the Austin Steam Train Flyer do the driving. On Mother’s Day weekend the entire family can get on board to sit back, relax, and enjoy the spectacular views. Celebrate mom on Saturday, May 11 on the Mother’s Day Flyer. The 66-mile excursion travels through the hill country crossing the bridge over the South San Gabriel River and Short Creek Canyon. The trip includes a two-hour layover in Burnet, TX where passengers can explore the historic town square and enjoy lunch on their own. On Sunday, May 12 there are two options available: the Mother’s Day Brunch Train and the Bertram Flyer. Ticket prices vary.
Sip wine at the Roses and Roseʹ Mother’s Day celebration
Moms will get the royal treatment on Sunday, May 12 from noon to 5 p.m. at Pedernales Cellars in Fredericksburg. During this special Mother’s Day promotion moms can purchase half glasses of the cellar’s Over the Moon Roseʹ for half-price and receive a free rose. We recommend you buy mom a bottle to take home and save for a special occasion together. This family-owned and operated vineyard offers a laid-back atmosphere among some of the most beautiful views in the hill country.
