7 Super Fun Activities to Spoil Mom on Mother’s Day

We love our moms and there’s one thing for certain they deserve the very best. This Mother’s Day make her day and treat her to a fun-filled day out. Succulent Native is holding a special workshop on Sunday, May 12 from 5-6:30 p.m. In the workshop learn everything you need to know about succulent arranging, care, and styling. You’ll also create a super cute succulent arrangement in a tea cup to bring home. Each arrangement comes complete with a curated succulent mix, decorative moss, cholla wood, and rock topping. Workshop instructors are experts in the field and will guide your selections based on your home and watering habits. Reservations are necessary. Tea, snacks, and a Q & A session follow the class. Take mom to the Texas Hill Country

And, let the Austin Steam Train Flyer do the driving. On Mother’s Day weekend the entire family can get on board to sit back, relax, and enjoy the spectacular views. Celebrate mom on Saturday, May 11 on the Mother’s Day Flyer. The 66-mile excursion travels through the hill country crossing the bridge over the South San Gabriel River and Short Creek Canyon. The trip includes a two-hour layover in Burnet, TX where passengers can explore the historic town square and enjoy lunch on their own. On Sunday, May 12 there are two options available: the Mother’s Day Brunch Train and the Bertram Flyer. Ticket prices vary.

Sip wine at the Roses and Roseʹ Mother’s Day celebration

Moms will get the royal treatment on Sunday, May 12 from noon to 5 p.m. at Pedernales Cellars in Fredericksburg. During this special Mother’s Day promotion moms can purchase half glasses of the cellar’s Over the Moon Roseʹ for half-price and receive a free rose. We recommend you buy mom a bottle to take home and save for a special occasion together. This family-owned and operated vineyard offers a laid-back atmosphere among some of the most beautiful views in the hill country. The Texas Hill Country houses over 50 wineries with special Mother’s Day events happening all weekend long.

Treat mom to brunch

There’s definitely no shortage of restaurants, wineries, and hotels hosting Mother’s Day brunches. From the budget-friendly to the moderately priced to the over-the-top elegant variety, they run the gamut. Depending on moms taste and your budget, there’s something for everyone out there. Chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, made-to-order omelets, chocolate-dipped strawberries, crème bruûlée French toast, make your own Mimosa and Bloody Mary bars, and so much yummy more.

Attend a Mother’s Day in-store yoga class

We can’t think of a better way to show mom you love her than giving her some quality down time. She’ll relax and breathe easy during Lululemon Athletica’s complimentary yoga class on Sunday, May 12 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Barton Creek Square store. It includes a one hour refreshing yoga flow by guest instructors from Wildheart Yoga and a 30- minute Savasana sound bath provided by Black Swan Yoga. Take a DIY perfume workshop

Explore the fascinating world of perfume and create your very own scent on Sunday, May 12 from 3-5 p.m. at Perfumes by Forza de Vie. Learn the history of perfume from the ancient to the modern, extraction methods, techniques, and interesting trivia facts. Then experiment with a curated selection of scents to create your very own bottle of perfume. This special Mother’s Day Workshop includes tea and biscuits. Tickets are required to attend.

Tour Austin on a two-wheeler

Get some exercise and enjoy a spin through the city on the Austin in a Nutshell Bike Tour. This two-hour family-friendly tour pedals through Zilker Park and around Lady Bird Lake.
