Putting Around—Area Golf Courses Provide Rounds of Fun

It’s tee time at area golf courses

Practice makes perfect. For the avid golf enthusiast there’s no better way to improve your game than to shoot a round of golf every week or two. There are plenty of places to play and hone your game with several area golf courses less than a 20 minute drive from Travisso. And, the warm weather along with an average of 228 days of sun makes the area picture perfect for year-round golf.

But, the better news is that winter temperatures range between 62 and 72 degrees. In the months of April and May 80 degree temperatures dominate. In the summer, temperatures can get to scorching levels but early morning and twilight rounds fix that problem. The months in between the two seasons are usually warm with temperatures ranging between 85 to 90 degrees.

There are over 20 golf courses within Austin’s city limits and beyond. Courses run the gamut. There are both public and private courses, award-winning, and a PGA Tour Signature Series Course. Each course has their own distinct features. The courses offer 9, 18, and in some cases 36 holes. A few of the courses have the advantage of the beautiful backdrop of the Texas Hill Country as a bonus feature.

Whether you want a challenge, are just playing for fun, or want to improve your game, golf courses abound. And, you don’t have to travel to Austin to play.
